- What is soy wax?
Soy wax is vegetable wax naturally made from the oil of soybeans. The soybeans will go through the process of being cleaned, cracked, dehulled and rolled into flakes. Until the oil can be extracted from the flakes to then be hydrogenated. This is the process of transforming some of the fatty acids from unsaturated to saturated that will boil the oil and turns it into solid at room temperature, which then becomes the soy wax you melts at home!

Considering that soy wax contains nothing artificial, it makes them a better alternative to any other kinds of wax such as paraffin wax. Not only that paraffin wax has been deemed for being unhealthy for being a product made by petroleum, coal, or oil shale it is also non-renewable! Scented candles are generally made of paraffin wax therefore it can release harmful toxins into the air when burned or melted.
While Soy wax is completely renewable as soybeans plants are not scarce! Soy wax is also biodegradable and cleans up with plain old soap and water! It also have a lower melting point than paraffin wax, so then soy candles will burn slower and last longer.
